The team
We are currently working with a new client in the media and entertainment space. We are building a future-facing content and production studio, combining hybrid creative talent with innovative production technologies to create industry-leading content across digital and traditional channels. The team will contain over 50 creative and production pros – everything from copy and design, through to video editors and animators. Most of the team will be based on the East Coast (NYC and Atlanta) with a handful of production roles in our hubs across South America. Working directly with the client’s marketing, events, programming, and content teams, the team will be responsible for end-to-end content development and production, delivering work for the brand’s paid media plans, owned channels (inclusive of social handles and apps), internal employee channels, partner marketing materials, and events.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior CRM Strategist to join our embedded agency team, supporting our client in the media and entertainment sector. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive direct marketing strategies that drive customer engagement, retention, and lifetime value. Leveraging your expertise in CRM principles and multi-channel direct response, you will oversee the end-to-end execution of campaigns across email, direct mail, SMS, and direct-response digital channels. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset, capable of translating data into actionable insights, advocating for the customer, and collaborating cross-functionally to optimize performance and achieve measurable business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
Develop comprehensive direct marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives and marketing goals.
Develop tactical direct marketing briefs for creative teams to execute, inclusive of value propositions, audience insight, and DM creative best practices for modular content.
Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer journey mapping to inform strategic decisions.
Campaign Execution & Management:
Oversee the end-to-end execution of direct marketing campaigns – across channels such as email, direct mail, SMS, telemarketing, and potentially direct-response digital ads (e.g., retargeting, lead generation forms) – from briefing to production. Ensuring a consistent and low-friction user journey.
Collaborate with creative teams (internal or external) to develop engaging copy, visuals, and calls-to-action that resonate with target audiences & align with business objectives.
Ensure all direct marketing activities comply with relevant regulations (e.g., State Law Privacy, CAN-SPAM, TCPA) and align with Moveable Ink/ Salesforce integrations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Advocacy:
Act as a central advocate for the customer, collaborating closely with Lines Of Business, Product, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Support teams to ensure a consistent and frictionless user experience.
Facilitate workshops and design sprints with stakeholders to co-create solutions and foster a customer-centric culture throughout the organization.
Communicate customer insights, journey maps, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, influencing decision-making.
Analysis & Optimization:
Utilize first party data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Proactively recommend and implement optimizations based on performance data and market insights.
Leverage Salesforce best practices to improve customer comms.
Skills and Experience Required:
7+ years of progressive experience in CRM, direct marketing strategy, or a related analytical marketing role, preferably within media, entertainment, or subscription-based industries.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful multi-channel direct marketing strategies (email, direct mail, SMS, DR digital) that drive measurable business outcomes.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies and optimizations.
Demonstrated experience with A/B testing methodologies and continuous optimization practices.
Solid understanding of CRM platforms, with hands-on experience leveraging tools like Salesforce for customer communications and data analysis.
Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and advocate for customer-centric solutions across various departments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex strategies and insights clearly to diverse audiences.
Knowledge of relevant direct marketing regulations (e.g., State Law Privacy, CAN-SPAM, TCPA).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.

The pay range for this role is $100,000-$120,000 . Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local cost of labor. Salary is subject to change based on factors such as geographic location and cost of living in location of hire.
