Senior Producer
Position overview:
As a Senior Producer, you are a pivotal leader within the production department, accountable for driving efficient and creatively exceptional work. You are self-directed in managing your projects and a key resource for elevating the entire team's capabilities.
Beyond executing, you are a creative collaborator, strategic partner, and trend leader who actively seeks and integrates the next great tool in production. You possess extensive experience working with multidisciplinary teams, consistently delivering creative campaigns and assets on time and on budget. You instill unwavering confidence and trust with clients, internal teams, and production partners, setting and maintaining the highest standards for creativity and showing others the way. Core responsibilities:
• Strategic Production Leadership: Act as a primary strategic partner to Creative, Strategy, and Business leadership, from conception through completion, ensuring production feasibility aligns with creative vision and acting as the expert "voice of production" at the table.
• End-to-End Project Oversight: Oversee and manage all aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production activities for complex, high-profile projects, ensuring seamless execution, adherence to timelines, and optimal creative output.
• Financial & Resource Management: Develop comprehensive ballparks, estimates, and schedules. Masterfully negotiate the best deals for clients, balancing creative ambition with financial prudence. Proactively participate in campaign briefs to define project scope, budgets, and critical assumptions.
• Team & Department Development: Mentor and develop up-and-coming producers, sharing comprehensive knowledge of production rules and processes. Partner with the Resource Manager to optimize departmental utilization and support team members' professional growth.
• Risk Mitigation & Quality Assurance: Proactively identify, assess, and strategically mitigate risks and unknowns within each production. Actively champion and evolve best practices within the production department to ensure consistency and raise quality standards.
• Stakeholder & Client Engagement: Lead and facilitate briefings, status meetings, and ensure transparent communication across all stakeholders, from internal teams to key clients. Act as the primary production lead for key accounts, providing expert guidance and recommendations.
• Partner & Vendor Management: Cultivate and maintain exceptional relationships with a diverse network of production partners, strategically identifying, vetting new talent, and managing vendor relationships.
• Industry Expertise & Innovation: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of union and talent rules (Actra, UDA, Non-Union, CFM, music licensing). Actively research, evaluate, and integrate cutting-edge industry trends and new technologies, particularly AI, to push creative and production boundaries to continuously push creative and production boundaries and elevate the agency’s capabilities. Proactively share these insights and learnings across the department and agency, contributing to our collective knowledge base.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee general production-related inquiries, facilitate the preparation and delivery of award show submissions, and ensure accurate job wrap-up and timely communication of closing.
• Collaborative Culture: Foster a highly collaborative and approachable environment within the department and across agency functions.
Skills + experience:
• Minimum of 6+ years of experience at an advertising agency in a producer role. Automotive experience is considered a significant asset.
• Experience with integrated projects is preferred. Line producer experience is an asset.
• A keen ability to quickly understand, evaluate, and implement new technology concepts and evolving production methodologies.
• Highly self-driven, demonstrating complete ownership and accountability for all assigned projects and team output.
• Expert-level, holistic knowledge of all facets of the production process, from concept to delivery across various media.
• Exemplary interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to "read the room," manage complex personalities, and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
• Unwavering confidence to lead and command all client meetings pertaining to production, adept at strategically presenting and selling through creative ideas alongside the team.
• Deep, strategic understanding of the current industry landscape and a proactive awareness of emerging trends and competitive developments.
• Continuously updated knowledge of the latest production vendors, technologies, and capabilities, with a knack for identifying best-fit partners.
• An unflappable, positive attitude, providing calm and clarity in every potential storm.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and persuasively to all levels of the organization and external partners.
• A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving, consistently seeking and implementing groundbreaking, budget-friendly solutions to realize ambitious creative concepts.
