The Role:
We are seeking a Creative Technologist to join our team. You'll be the architect of seamless experiences, a strategic thinker who can articulate the "why" behind the "how," and a hands-on builder who transforms abstract concepts into compelling realities.
You possess the visionary eye of an art director or designer and the analytical mind of a technologist. You're as comfortable shaping the foundational philosophy of a campaign as you are prototyping its digital touchpoints. This role is for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity, data, and emerging technology, relentlessly focused on making our work not just seen, but felt and experienced across every tier of the customer journey.
What You'll Do:
● Architect Immersive Customer Journeys: Envision and map the end-to-end user and customer experience (UX/CX), from the concept to the granular interactions within digital touchpoints. You'll ensure every impression, from top-tier awareness to engagement, is cohesive, impactful, and contributes to an "unignorable experience."
● Drive Data-First Creative: Integrate data and insights directly into the creative process, informing strategic decisions, design choices, and execution. You'll leverage analytics to optimize calls-to-action, test creative variations, and prove the effectiveness of our campaigns, working closely with our new media offering and media leads to craft results-driven opportunities.
● Develop Cohesive Design Systems: Lead the thinking and application of design systems that ensure fluidity and consistency across all brand touchpoints and campaign tiers. You'll ensure that while elements may not be "matching luggage," they work together spherically to create a unified and harmonious brand presence.
● Transform Ideas into Tangible Experiences: Express complex UX principles and design systems through vivid, creative examples and functional prototypes. Whether it's an interactive app concept or an innovative banner ad, you'll bring ideas to life with a deep understanding of human behavior and technological possibility.
● Innovate with Technology & Automation: Explore, experiment with, and integrate cutting-edge tools and methodologies, including generative AI (as a key partner with "WPP Open"), automation pipelines, and advanced prototyping environments. You’ll build and refine workflows that enhance creative efficiency and unlock new forms of creative expression.
● Collaborate & Influence Across the Agency: Partner extensively with Art Directors, Copywriters, Strategists, Designers, Media, Account, and Production teams. You'll integrate your technical and creative expertise to defend our work, drive efficiency to effectiveness, and elevate the entire agency's capabilities.
● Client Partnership & Advocacy: Cultivate strong client relationships as a trusted partner. You are an integral voice in defending the work, aligning client objectives with groundbreaking creative execution.
● Champion New Frontiers: Act as a thought leader you’ll advocate for how technology can shape and advance our creative output. You'll share knowledge, mentor colleagues, and help define the agency's future creative landscape.
What You'll Bring: Skills & Qualifications
● A Unique Blend: A demonstrable background combining strong creative vision (art direction/design thinking) with deep technological understanding and hands-on making ability.
● Experience: 8-10 years of experience in advertising as an Art Director or Designer, or a similar role within an agency or innovative tech environment.
● UX/CX Mastery: A profound understanding of user experience and customer experience principles, with a proven ability to design and optimize journeys across diverse platforms and touchpoints.
● Systems Thinker: Expertise in developing and implementing design systems and frameworks that ensure scalability and consistency in creative execution.
● Creative Problem Solver: Proven ability to solve complex creative challenges using technology, translating abstract concepts into tangible, compelling, and effective outputs.
● Data Literacy: Ability to interpret data, identify insights, and apply them strategically to creative development and optimization.
● Portfolio: A compelling portfolio that showcases both your creative excellence and your technical ingenuity, demonstrating how you've merged ideas with execution.
● Collaborative Spirit: An exceptional team player with strong communication skills, able to articulate complex technical and creative concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
● Lifelong Learner & Innovator: A natural curiosity for emerging technologies and trends, eager to deep-dive into unfamiliar territory, experiment, and bring back actionable insights and solutions. You're comfortable being that "eccentric" force who challenges norms and inspires new ways of thinking.
The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from CA$90,000 to CA$140,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
