About the Role:
We’re looking for someone with 8+ years of agency strategy experience and a proven track record of transformational, modern marketing work that has grown clients’ business. In collaboration with a cross-disciplinary leadership team, the Strategy Director will steward the direction of key pieces of business within the agency. You will provide business-relevant perspectives on communication challenges based on a thorough understanding of the market and competitive factors, helping to frame the overarching story of a project.
You have a keen awareness of current trends in the industry and in culture and a proven track record for creating noteworthy insight that has been recognized in a meaningful way, both internally and by clients. You will ensure both the quality and soundness of the work from a strategy standpoint, as well as possess an affinity for creative and understanding of the essential business challenge behind every brief. Ultimately, your job is to ensure that the team and department is set up to deliver not only solutions, but also insight that helps clients make decisions about their businesses. This is a high-visibility role, which requires outstanding influential, collaboration, and communication skills. You will also mentor and manage more junior members of the strategy team.

- A Strategic Leader (with Agency Expertise): A thought leader with 8+ years of strategic planning experience within an advertising agency, you excel at guiding clients and internal teams towards innovative and effective marketing solutions that drive business growth. Your ability to influence at the Director and C-Suite levels is crucial for shaping impactful strategies. You're adept at building brands and crafting integrated communications plans, especially within digital environments. You're also skilled at captivating audiences with strategic selling and facilitating creative problem-solving workshops.
- A Strategic Driver: You possess a strong strategic vision, understanding how to translate business objectives and budgets into effective marketing strategies that get results. You're skilled at identifying opportunities for creative solutions and have a knack for working collaboratively with creative teams to guide the development of campaigns that connect with audiences and drive measurable impact. You have a knack for leading workshops that help clients think strategically and solve problems creatively.
- A Collaborative Communicator: Your exceptional communication and collaboration skills enable you to effectively articulate ideas, build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (creative, strategy, production, and account leaders), and lead cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals. You have outstanding leadership, time management, and organization skills.

What You'll Do:
- Drive Strategic Growth: Deeply understand client businesses to develop sound strategic insights that directly contribute to achieving their business objectives and driving measurable growth.
- Champion Creative Excellence: Lead the creative brief writing process, ensuring that briefs are clear, inspiring, and aligned with strategic objectives, ultimately fueling the creation of impactful and effective campaigns.
- Lead and Inspire: Develop, manage, mentor, and oversee strategy teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring the department delivers exceptional strategic thinking.
- Translate Vision into Action: Take high-level creative ideas and break them into specific communications tasks, outlining the role of channels within an idea and developing frameworks that assist in the presentation of ideas to clients, ensuring seamless execution.
- Anticipate and Respond: Proactively anticipate and react to the evolving needs of brands, providing strategic guidance and solutions that address their challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
- Build Strong Partnerships: Establish and nurture strong working relationships with clients and internal teams, acting as a trusted partner and sounding board throughout the creative process.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Continuously keep up-to-date with trends, ensuring that the agency remains at the forefront of innovation and best practices.
- Uncover Consumer Insights: Create consumer connection profiles/maps that provide deep insight into consumer behaviors and relationships with relevant media, channels, and non-traditional connection points, informing strategic decision-making.
- Facilitate Collaboration: Plan and facilitate integrated planning sessions and ideations both internally and/or with external participants, fostering a collaborative environment that generates innovative ideas and solutions.
