The team
We are currently working with a new client in the media and entertainment space. We are building a future facing content and production studio, combining hybrid creative talent with innovative production technologies to create industry leading content across digital and traditional channels. The team will contain over 50 creative and production pros – everything from copy and design, through to video editors and photographers. Most of the team will be based on the East Coast (NYC and Atlanta) with a handful of production roles in our hubs across South America. Working directly with the client’s marketing, events, programming, and content teams, the team will be responsible for end-to-end content development and production, delivering work for the brand’s paid media plans, owned channels (inclusive of social handles and apps), internal employee channels, partner marketing materials, and events.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Senior Direct Mail Copywriter to join our embedded agency team, supporting a new client in the media and entertainment space. As a key contributor to our future-facing content and production studio, you will specialize in crafting compelling, high-converting direct response copy across a diverse range of channels, with a particular emphasis on direct mail. Your expertise will extend to email marketing, landing pages, digital advertisements, and SMS messages, all designed to engage discerning target audiences and drive measurable action. You will be instrumental in originating creative concepts, articulating clear value propositions, and optimizing copy through A/B testing to maximize conversion rates and campaign effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Develop High-Converting Copy: Write persuasive, benefit-driven copy for a wide range of direct marketing materials, including:
- Email marketing campaigns across whole product lifecycle
- Landing pages and sales pages designed for conversion
- Direct mail
- Digital advertisements (social media ads, search ads, display ads)
- SMS messages and push notifications
Be The Subject Matter Expert on DM Copywriting For Team & Clients: Develop, generate buy-in, and advocate for consistent application of DM copywriting best practices within the wider team and with clients.
Audience-Centric Messaging: Work with strategy team to tailor copy and campaigns to specific audience cohorts, prioritising personalized messaging that drives conversion.
A/B Testing & Optimization: Collaborate with marketing analysts and designers to develop and execute A/B tests on copy variations, analyze results, and continuously optimize for improved performance (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates).
Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with marketing managers, product teams, sales, and design to understand campaign objectives, product features, and customer journeys, ensuring copy aligns with overall strategy and brand voice.
Value Proposition Development: Articulate clear, compelling, and unique value propositions for products and services, ensuring they resonate with individual customer needs.
Data-Driven Insights: Monitor and analyze copy performance metrics, drawing insights to inform future writing strategies and improve campaign effectiveness.
Brand Voice & Consistency: Maintain a consistent brand voice and tone while adapting messaging for different channels and audience segments, always with a direct response focus.
Skills and Experience Required:
At least 5+ years of proven experience in direct response copywriting, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful direct mail campaigns.
Deep expertise in crafting high-converting copy for a variety of direct marketing channels, including direct mail, email marketing, landing pages, digital advertisements (social, search, display), and SMS.
Demonstrated ability to develop persuasive, benefit-driven messaging that resonates with specific audience segments and drives measurable action.
Experience with A/B testing methodologies and a data-driven approach to copy optimization, including analyzing performance metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates).
Strong understanding of customer journeys, value proposition development, and strategic messaging alignment.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to craft and quality in all written materials.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams (strategy, design, analytics, product).
Ability to maintain a consistent brand voice and tone while adapting messaging for different direct response channels and audience segments.

The pay range for this role is $100,000-$120,000 . Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local cost of labor. Salary is subject to change based on factors such as geographic location and cost of living in location of hire.
