The Role
Reporting to GAD, this role will oversee agency deliverables for a key account at the agency. This includes leadership of multiple B2B integrated, multi-channel programs annually in addition to playing an integral role in leading and coordinating strategic planning and innovation initiatives. This role requires an understanding of CRM systems, data driven marketing and the integration of communication strategies across digital, direct and traditional platforms. They will be directly responsible for the ‘delivery’ of the active projects as well as be more forward planning focused initiatives.
The right candidate will have a passion for creativity, demonstrate solid business judgment, exceptional project management and problem-solving skills, inspired strategic thinking, and have a proven track record leading all types of deliverables in a fast-paced agency environment. You thrive on and have experience in full funnel marketing and have CRM experience to leverage. This person will have strong people skills and a passion for training and developing those under them.
Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
• Serve as the main contact for client requests, building and maintaining strong relationships with them. Become an expert in your clients category and business challenges.
Strategic Leadership
• Provide strategic direction on your account by ensuring all the work aligns with the clients business objectives and brief
• Writing and delivering creative briefs with the strategist, where and when appropriate
Project Oversight
• Lead cross functional teams (creative, media, strategy and production) to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Managing the development of all client communications and presentations.
• Flawless production and project management oversight, being the process “expert” on the team always upholding the quality of the work.
• Foreseeing issues and problem solving appropriately.
Team leadership:
• Mentor, guide and continuously train Account Managers and Account Coordinators, ensuring accuracy with appropriate checks and balances.
• Providing on-going guidance to junior members across all departments and providing appropriate feedback to support their professional development.
• Know when to manage and when to escalate issues.
Budget and Financial Management
• Oversee budgets for client projects providing regular updates on financial and project milestones.
• Collaborating with the finance team, helping to develop financial acumen in the interest of both the agency and the client, tracking and monitoring hours and budgets to make sure projects stay on track
Skills and experience:
• You have 5-7 years of advertising experience in account management, with a proven track record of leading high-profile client accounts.
• Experience in B2B marketing and communications with a focus on integrated marketing strategies and CRM.
• Understanding of CR systems (eg. Salesforce) and data-driven marketing.
• Expert at storytelling and building impactful and influential strategy and creative concept presentations.
• You have strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and developing junior staff.
• You have led a range of productions from small digital content to 360 campaigns.
• Strong planning and organizational skills: time-management, working to critical paths, budgeting, delegating, facilitating meetings, multi-tasking, attention to detail, follow up, etc.
• Love building relationships and getting to know clients.
• You collaborate and guide the strategic goals of the agency and client’s business.
• You define business challenges and strive to be a category expert.
• You have a strong rapport with internal teams, fostering on going trust and collaboration
• You have proven experience in building strong client relationships and driving account growth.
• You can direct and redirect when issues arise, maintaining a calm demeanour in the face of a challenge and know when to bring in senior leaders.
• You are an engaging presenter.
• You have strong organizational, written and oral communication skills and are professional, smart and well spoken.
• You are flexible with the ability to shift focus or direction on a dime and juggle multiple projects at a time.
